Massport Brings on Executive Search Firm to Help Identify Next CEO
BOSTON – The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) Board of Directors today voted to approve the hiring of the Isaacson, Miller executive search firm to assist in identifying candidates for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). After six years with the Authority, the tenure of the current CEO Thomas P. Glynn ends on Friday, November 16th.
Massport issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) for a search firm on September 27th and received five bids. The RFP emphasized the importance of diversity. It asked for firms to:
- Illustrate their ability to find qualified, diverse candidates;
- Provide examples of the firm’s track record in presenting a diverse candidate pool;
- Describe the commitment to diversity and inclusion within their own workforce.
Isaacson, Miller is committed to identifying diverse pools of candidates for their clients. The firm is well known for their success in recruiting candidates from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds to key leadership positions throughout the country.
In the last year, 52 percent of the leaders Isaacson, Miller helped clients recruit were women and 27 percent were people of color. Over the life of the firm, 43 percent of placements have been women and 23 percent have been people of color.
Isaacson, Miller has worked for Massport and the New York New Jersey Port Authority in the past. The firm has offices in Boston, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
Glynn’s tenure as Executive Director and CEO at Massport will be remembered for the growth of international flights at Logan Airport; revitalization of the Working Port of Boston and Worcester Regional Airport; and the Omni Hotel diversity initiative. He has also made relationship building with the Authority’s neighborhood communities a top priority.
The Board has appointed Massport CFO John Pranckevicius to Acting CEO
