Massport Fire Rescue’s responsibilities include aircraft rescue and firefighting, structural fire protection, hazardous materials response, emergency medical services, and responding to offshore emergencies with the Marine division, which includes the 79-foot American United fireboat. It is also responsible for fire prevention and inspections.
We stay prepared for emergencies by maintaining lifesaving automated external defibrillators, conducting periodic drills, and training airport employees in CPR and first aid. We also organize informative outreach programs, including fire safety education for schoolchildren in neighboring communities.
Fire departments from all over the United States and Canada come to our state-of-the-art fire training facility at Boston Logan International Airport. We’re proud to be part of the Massachusetts Metro Fire District and the mutual aid response system for our neighboring communities. Massport Fire Rescue also provides aircraft rescue and firefighting services at Worcester Regional Airport and Hanscom Field.
