Construction Work Will Alter Logan Roadways

Passengers departing from Terminal B could be impacted

BOSTON – Beginning on July 1, passenger vehicles heading to the Terminal B departure level at Boston Logan International Airport will be detoured through the upper level roadway of Terminal A. The detour is to allow room for the demolition of an older vehicle bridge, and completion of a new bridge. This work is part of the larger Terminal B to C Roadways project, and this portion is expected to take several months to complete.

There will be signage leading up to the impacted area, and only vehicles heading to Terminal B need to follow the detour. Passengers heading to Terminals A, C or E will follow the normal routes. There will be no impact to either the Logan Express buses or any of the scheduled bus services in operation.

Massport’s Terminal B to C Roadways project will revamp the terminal area roadways to eliminate backups and get passengers to and from the terminals faster. New construction will replace aging roadway infrastructure along both levels between the terminals. It will create more curb space at Terminal C — and reduce congestion on Boston Logan’s roadways — by improving traffic flow and increasing traffic safety.

Due to a variety of construction projects happening in and around the airport, there are roadway detours on a regular basis. We ask that passengers driving to and from Logan be vigilant, pay close attention to signage and be sure to plan your travel time accordingly.
