American Airlines Finalizes Consolidation at Terminal B

All ticketing and operations will now occur at Gates 4-22

BOSTON As the Terminal B Optimization project to improve the customer experience at Boston Logan International Airport is nearing completion, American Airlines has completed their consolidation of operations. All operations for the airline will occur at Terminal B Gates 4-22 with the exception of international arrivals, which arrive in Terminal E. All airport signage is being updated to reflect the change.

American Airlines currently serves 17 destinations from Boston Logan, with 13 domestic and 4 international destinations. American merged with US Airways in the fall of 2015 and took over their operations at Logan, creating a situation where American operations were on both sides of Terminal B. Renovations to consolidate the airline’s ticketing and operations to one side of the terminal was recently completed.

Other aspects of the project include:

  • Consolidating security checkpoints into modern checkpoint;
  • Expanding and reorganizing  ticketing counters and kiosks;
  • Gate modifications to better accommodate airline requirements;
  • An improved baggage handling area;
  • Reconfigured concession locations;
  • Improved aesthetics, specialty seating and wayfinding.
