Enabling Act
Chapter 465 of the Massachusetts Acts of 1956, as amended to date (the “Enabling Act”), established the Massachusetts Port Authority as a body politic and corporate and a public instrumentality of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts. As provided in the Enabling Act, Massport owns, operates, and manages Boston Logan International Airport, L.G. Hanscom Field, Worcester Regional Airport, certain facilities in the Port of Boston, and other properties. The Enabling Act allows Massport to operate its facilities, to impose fees on those using the facilities, and to issue revenue bonds.
