Boston Logan Prepares for Pre-Holiday Business Travelers
Reduced parking offered at all four suburban Logan Express sites
BOSTON – The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) today announced a special Logan Express parking rate of $22 between November 13 and November 22, for 4-14 day parking. The flat rate amounts to $5.50 per day or less than $2.00 per day to park depending on the length of stay. Massport is offering the special rate as business travelers schedule last minute trips before the Thanksgiving holiday and parking at Logan Airport is expected to be in very high demand. Travelers must enter a Logan Express parking lot between 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday November 13, through 11:59 p.m. Friday November 22, to be eligible for the special parking rate.
“Please consider leaving your car at home during this busy travel period,’’ said Director of Aviation Edward C. Freni. “ No one wants to miss a flight because they could not park and travelers who have the option of using Logan Express or public transportation should take advantage of those options.” Demand for on-airport parking will peak in the coming weeks as business travelers schedule last minute trips before the holiday.
The supply of on-airport parking will rebound during the week of Thanksgiving as families travel for the holiday.
Braintree Logan Express is located at 62 Forbes Road, Braintree, opposite South Shore Plaza on Forbes Road, off Route 37 South at Routes 128/93; Framingham Logan Express is located at 1 Worcester Road, Framingham, Route 30 side of Shoppers’ World on the Burr St. extension; Woburn Logan Express is located at 100 Atlantic Ave, Woburn, at Exit 37C (North & South bound), off Rte 93 at The Anderson Regional Transportation Center; and Peabody Logan Express is at 164 Newbury Street, Peabody.
For travelers choosing public transportation, the MBTA Silver Line provides service between South Station and Logan’s terminals every 10 minutes. Outbound service from Logan Airport to the South Boston Seaport District and South Station is free. The MBTA Blue Line provides subway service between Boston and Airport Station. Massport provides free shuttle service to and from all terminals; the airport rental car center and the MBTA Blue Line Station. Water transportation is also available by water taxi companies providing on-call service to points throughout Downtown Boston from the Logan dock
