Ground Transportation - Overview

Since the early 1980s, Massport has been a leader in the development and use of alternative forms of ground transportation for access to and from of Boston's Logan International Airport. By providing a diverse range of environmentally responsible alternatives to travelers, employees and other airport users, reliance on single occupant vehicle use has been reduced, improving traffic congestion and air quality. Massport has worked continually with state and regional agencies on other metropolitan and regional transportation planning initiatives to further support the use of alternative forms of transportation. The latest air passenger survey, conducted in 2007, demonstrated nearly 30% HOV mode share when Logan Airport had approximately 28 million air passengers.
