Getting to Boston Logan International Airport is easy no matter where you are on the T's system. Taking the T to and from Logan:

The MBTA offers Blue Line Subway services and Silver Line Bus Rapid Transit service to and from Downtown Boston. The MBTA is the most economical and environmentally friendly way to get Logan.

To and From Logan:

Silver Line to and from the Airport – with connections to the Red Line and Commuter Rail at South Station
Blue Line to and from the Airport – with connections to the Green Line, Orange Line and Commuter Rail at North Station

Silver Line to and from the Airport
Silver Line is FREE from Logan Airport inbound to South Station (including a free transfer to the Red Line).


With the Silver Line Route SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront) bus rapid transit service as your best direct connection to and from the Red Line at South Station, this is your best option for transportation to:

• Cambridge
• Downtown Boston
• Harvard University
• Massachusetts General Hospital
• MIT

The Silver Line SL1 is the most convenient option and your best connection to and from the Airport with drop-off and pick-up directly in front of each Logan Terminal. There are no shuttle transfers and room to store your luggage.
 
For service to Logan Airport using the Silver Line SL1, take the MBTA Red Line or Commuter Rail to South Station and transfer to the Silver Line Route SL1. The Silver Line SL1 will drop you off in front of your Logan terminal.

The Silver Line SL1 is accessible for the disabled and runs from approximately 5:30AM to 12:30AM every day of the week.

Blue Line to and from the Airport

The Blue Line Subway is your best connection to the Orange Line at State Street Station. This route is the best option for transportation to:

• Back Bay
• Boston College
• Boston University
• Brookline
• Downtown Boston
• Fenway Park
• The Longwood Medical Area
• Newton
• Northeastern University

***Please note the MBTA's Government Center Station will be closed for 2 years starting March 22, 2014 in order to completely rebuild the station.

For service to Logan Airport using the Blue Line, take the MBTA Blue Line to the Airport Station and board free Massport shuttle buses to all airline terminals.

For service from Logan Airport using the Blue Line, board free Massport shuttle buses (Route Nos. 22, 33, or 55 to "MBTA Blue Line") outside your terminal. The Massport shuttle buses, which have storage space for luggage, will drop you off directly in front of Airport Station where you can purchase your CharlieTicket at the ticket machines inside the station's lobby. Insert your CharlieTicket in the turn style to access the station platform.

The Blue Line runs from approximately 6:00AM to 12:30AM every day of the week.

MBTA Commuter Boat to and from the Airport

Take MBTA ferries to Logan Airport from the commuter boat terminal located at Fore River Shipyard, 703 Washington Street in Quincy, or from Pemberton Point in Hull. Upon arrival at the Logan dock, take the free Massport Route 66 Shuttle Bus, which services all airport terminals. Commuter Boat service from Quincy operates 7-days-a-week. Hull services operate weekdays only. Overnight parking at Quincy is affordable and discounted weekly rates are also available. To and from the Airport - Directions from All Points

TO AND FROM THE NORTH:

• To the Airport: Take the Orange Line to State Street Station and transfer to the Blue Line to Airport Station. Other options include taking Commuter Rail to North Station and take the Orange Line to State Street Station and transfer to the Blue Line to Airport Station. Then take the free Massport shuttle bus to all terminals.

• From the Airport: Take the free Massport shuttle bus from any terminal to the Blue Line at Airport Station. Take the Blue Line to State Street Station and transfer to the Orange Line to North Station and Commuter Rail.

TO AND FROM THE NORTHEAST:

• To the Airport: Take the Blue Line to Airport Station and transfer to the free Massport shuttle bus to all terminals. Other options include Bus Route Nos. 448 and 449 from Marblehead or Bus Route No. 459 from Salem, all of which serve Logan Airport Terminal C or Commuter Rail to North Station to the Orange Line to State Street Station and transfer to the Blue Line to Airport Station.

• From the Airport: Take the free Massport shuttle bus from any terminal to the Blue Line at Airport Station. Other options include connections to Bus Route Nos. 448 and 449 to Marblehead and Bus Route No. 459 to Salem from Logan Airport Terminal C or Commuter Rail at North Station via the Orange Line at State Street Station.

TO AND FROM THE NORTHWEST:

• To the Airport: Take the Red Line to South Station and transfer to the Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront), which serves all airport terminals. or Commuter Rail to North Station and take the Orange Line to State Street Station and transfer to the Blue Line to Airport Station to the free Massport shuttle bus to all terminals

• From the Airport: Take the Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront) to South Station and transfer to the Red Line or take the free Massport shuttle bus from any terminal to the Blue Line at Airport Station  to State Street Station and transfer to Orange Line to North Station Commuter Rail.

TO AND FROM THE WEST:

• To the Airport: Take the Green Line to Government Center and transfer to the Blue Line to Airport Station. Then take the free Massport shuttle bus to any terminal. Other options include taking the Commuter Rail to South Station and transferring to the Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront), which serves all airport terminals.

• From the Airport: Take the free Massport shuttle bus from any terminal to the Blue Line at Airport Station. Take the Blue Line to Government Center and transfer to the Green Line. Other options include taking the Silver Line SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront) to South Station for connections to the Commuter Rail.

TO AND FROM THE SOUTH:

• To the Airport: Take the Orange Line to State Street Station and transfer to the Blue Line to Airport Station. Then take the free Massport shuttle bus to any terminal. Other options include taking the Commuter Rail, Red Line, or SL4 to South Station and transferring to SL1, which serves all airport terminals. For early morning service, take the Bus Route No. 171 from Dudley Station or Andrew Station directly to the terminals.

• From the Airport: Take the free Massport shuttle bus from any terminal to the Blue Line at Airport Station. Take the Blue Line to State Street Station and transfer to Orange Line service. Other options include taking the SL1 to South Station and transferring for Commuter Rail, Red Line, and SL4 service. For early morning service, take Bus Route No. 171 from the terminals to Dudley Station or Andrew Station.

TO AND FROM THE SOUTHEAST:

• To the Airport: Take the Commuter Rail or the Red Line to South Station and transfer to the SL1, which serves all airport terminals. Other options include taking the MBTA Harbor Express ferries from the Quincy commuter boat terminal located at 703 Washington Street in Quincy or from Pemberton Point in Hull to Logan Airport. • From the Airport: Take the SL1 at any airport terminal to the Commuter Rail or Red Line at South Station. You can buy a one-way CharlieTicket for $2.50, a one-day LinkPass for $11.00, and a one-week LinkPass for $18.00 using cash or credit/debit cards at machines located inside or outside all airport terminals for customers desiring service on the Silver Line SL1 as well as inside the Airport Station lobby for customers desiring Blue Line service. One-day and one-week LinkPasses allow you to unlimited travel on all Subway Lines, Local Buses, Commuter Rail Zone 1A Lines, and Inner-Harbor Ferries for the number of days printed on your pass.
