Chelsea


Chelsea hosts a Park and Fly lot and several air cargo facilities connected with Boston Logan International Airport, as well as sand and salt storage facilities and the Logan Airport employee parking garage.

Chelsea was first settled in 1624.  At just 1.8 square miles, Chelsea is the smallest city in Massachusetts.  Chelsea has a density of 16,036 per square mile that makes it the 26th most densely populated incorporated place in the US.

The city was the site of the Battle of Chelsea Creek, fought in 1775, the second battle of the Revolution.  A portion of Washington's army was stationed in Chelsea during the Siege of Boston. In 1998, Chelsea was named winner of the All-America City Award.
