Community Mitigation

Massport and local community leaders have also worked positively together in the past to balance the impact on local neighborhoods of specific Massport developments, and Massport has worked hard to keep these mitigation commitments.  Examples include the $10 million contribution to the East Boston Foundation in consideration of the improvement and expansion of Logan’s landside facilities over the past decade, as well as a $4 million contribution to the Bayswater Environmental Fund that will provide individual grants of up to $17,000 to help more than 200 homeowners retrofit their homes.  Massport made the contribution when it removed a fence that had separated the neighborhood from the end of one of Logan’s runways.
