Massport closely monitors aircraft fleet characteristics as part of the Authority's overall environmental management program. Of particular interest within the context of noise abatement is the percentage of Logan's fleet that is Stage 3 compliant. Stage 3 aircraft can be dramatically quieter than Stage 3 recertified engines.
In 2001, Massport began to report the percentage of airline operations in full Stage 3 aircraft. The 2008 summary is provided below.
